Wearing makeup when you have oily skin can be troubling at times. I know because I have extremely oily skin myself, so I’m constantly looking in the mirror every couple of hours to see if my nose is glaring. I’ve asked my dermatologist if there is anything he could prescribe to suppress the production of oil, and unfortunately his response was “no”. He did point out that I will still look great at 50 years old, which does help the situation.
Over the years I’ve learned how to cope with some very useful products and tips that I’m sure will benefit you as well:
1. Blot powder – This is a wonderful product that I carry around with me everyday in my purse. It comes in a compact with a powder puff, similar to sheer powder. Instead of touching up with more makeup or sheer powder, I use blot powder. It’s translucent, so I can get rid of the oiliness without caking more makeup onto my face. Another advantage is that my makeup lasts longer because I’m not reapplying it throughout the day.
2. Blotting papers – These can be found anywhere – from beauty supply stores to cosmetic counters. These are small oil-absorbing sheets of paper that come in a small package that you can easily carry around with you throughout the day. All you have to do is dab the oily areas of your face – typically the forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin. The papers will absorb the oil without leaving a powdery substance on your face or removing your makeup.
3. Oil-control lotion – You can purchase this at almost any cosmetic counter. It’s very easy to apply and you can wear it under your makeup. Just dab a little on the oily areas of your face and blend outward. It controls shine and provides a matte finish. Most oil-control lotions work really well, but you may have to decrease the use if you find that your skin gets dry and starts flaking.
4. Facial Tissue – When all else fails, grab a sheet of tissue paper! Besides using a blot powder, facial tissue is another product that I use throughout the day as well. Most are 2-ply, but it works better if you separate them and use 1-ply. They’re almost as useful as the blotting papers, and a lot cheaper too! Try to avoid buying ones that have fragrance or color because it may irritate your skin and cause breakouts.
5. Cleanser/Moisturizer – Neither of these will absorb oil or block out the production, but they should be part of your everyday skincare routine. Always opt for a cleanser that is oil-free, and there are some great ones that are specifically made for oily skin. Your moisturizer should be water based with SPF15 or greater and be labeled as “noncomedogenic”. Your cleansing and moisturizing routine should be implemented morning and night to avoid clogging pores.
6. Foundation makeup – Should be labeled “oil free” to prevent adding unnecessary oil to your face. Because I love a matte look, my everyday foundation contains powder, and comes in a powder compact. Foundation that is water-based or oil free come in various shades for many cosmetics lines, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding one that is right for you.

Weightloss With NLP
Submitted By: Karen Hastings, Hertfordshire
NLP can be useful for people struggling to lose weight. In fact, wanting to lose weight is a fairly common reason for why people seek NLP, Edinburgh. Whilst NLP is by no means a magic diet pill, it can be very useful in addressing the issues associated with over-eating such as confidence, self-esteem, motivation and negative coping strategies. This article discusses seven NLP tools, which can help you in being slim and healthy.
1. NLP Communication Model – This model underlies any change work in NLP and a good therapist will explain this model to you. It is very important as it tells us how people use language in specific patterns, during thinking. Depending on the nature of the way you talk to yourself when thinking, you could be undermining the efforts you make to eat healthily and be slim. The NLP communication model can help you to begin to be much more aware of the language you use during thinking, in order that you can develop positive thinking habits. Since how you think has a massive effect on how you feel, it also effects how you behave. Change your thinking patterns and you will get different behavioural results. In the case of weight loss, this can be a change in your eating or exercise habits.
2. NLP Presuppositions – These are a set of convenient beliefs which if you subscribe to them, can lead to you feeling much more empowered. For example, one of the presuppositions is that all behaviour has a positive intention. This does not mean that everything a person does it morally good or good for society. It means that each person, only always carry out behaviours that are positive for them in some way, i.e. meet some higher human need. So, if you feel frustrated at yourself for overeating when you feel you really shouldn’t, its time to begin to think about what needs you meet through food. Only, then can you acknowledge that you have been doing the best with the resources available to you at the time and begin to plan how to meet the need met by food in a more positive way.
3. NLP Frame – Cause is greater then effect. NLP frames are frames of reference that guide the individual towards taking responsibility for themselves, how they feel and what happens in their lives. During NLP therapy, Edinburgh you will be encouraged to BE at CAUSE. This means that things happen in your life because of you, not too you. NLP does not claim this to always be the case, it asks you to try to live your life guided by the frames. Being at cause means you get the credit for all the great things you achieve, of course, it also means that you have to take responsibility for outcomes that your not so proud of. How does this relate to dieting? Well as a person who used to smoke and who tried to stop for several years before I was successful, I know that I felt much more comfortable about lighting up, if I had a reason (excuse). So, it was the fault of my stressful day, argument with boyfriend, because I’d had a glass of wine, because I needed to relax and not because I was choosing to smoke over other behavioural options. This can be the case, with bingeing or snacking. Once you begin to stop kidding yourself during thinking and actually begin to stop and say, actually I don’t have to eat this, I can act in a different way, I take responsibility, you have taken a big step towards the slimmer you.
4. NLP Formal Change Techniques – There are several formal change techniques, which are useful for helping with weight-loss. The most appropriate technique will depend on your unique problem. Here are a few: 1) The Swish Technique can be used if you wish to replace a highly contextualised problem behaviour with a more positive behaviour. It works to eliminate behaviours that occur in specific situations after specific triggers. 2) Parts Integration is very useful at uncovering the positive intention of your unhelpful eating habits and dealing with incongruent behaviour and feelings. If you’ve had the experience of thinking ‘how have I just eaten that, I’ve been doing so well’, this technique could help you! 3) Like To Dislike – This technique is based on information about how we code memories in our brain. We tend to code things we like in a different way to things we don’t like. So, if you have a particularly problematic food type, its possible to change the memory of the problematic food type into the memory of a food you can’t stand. This technique works really well if you have a food that you really hate! 4) Hypnosis with positive suggestion – many NLP therapists will have studied hypnotic techniques based on the Ericksonian model, during NLP training and will utilise these techniques during therapy sessions.
5. Getting Leverage – NLP therapists are skilled at getting leverage. This basically means helping the client to recognise and experience the impact of the problem behaviour, such as overeating, on themselves and those around them. It will help you find your motivation and will identify those who are not motivated.
6. Setting Well Formed Goals. NLP takes goals setting seriously and has developed criteria for goal setting that results in the goals being much more achievable and likely to be reached. Your therapist can support you in working towards your weight loss goals.
7. Developing Positive Coping Strategies. Acknowledge that your problematic eating has served a purpose in the past, in that it has likely been a method for coping. Now you want to develop positive coping strategies that serve you in the present and future. When would now be the right time to be good to yourself?
These are just a few of the ways that NLP can help you develop new options in thinking and behaviour. I have found these techniques effective during NLP, Edinburgh at my NLP practice, Edinburgh, when supporting clients in losing weight.

Finding Shoes That Fit Means Healthier Feet
Submitted By: Janet Martin
Women simply adore shoes. Just visit the shoe section of a department store and you will see a wide variety of styles, colors, designs, and make of shoes all over the place. Be it sneakers, stilettos, pumps, wedges, clogs, and slippers. For as long as they are fabulous and fashionable, women will be coming in droves to buy shoes. In fact, there are people, such as the infamous Imelda Marcos, who are known because of their shoe collection.
But aside from pinching the wallet, women's love for footwear has caused a lot of pain for their feet. In the case of majority of women, foot pain is not only caused by carrying body weight day in and day out, but also because of dangerously high or ill-fitted shoes. This is the reason why it is not surprising for women to complain about blisters, calluses, corns, broken toenails, pinched nerves, bunions and many more.
If you are one of those who sacrifice foot comfort for fashion, you should be warned that there are serious implications of wearing ultra-high and wobbly high-heeled footwear and ill-fitted shoes. Now is the time to choose a pair of shoes and sneakers not for fashion but for comfort. Here are some tips to help you find that perfect pair:
Measure Your Size
It is important to note that the size of your feet changes as you grow old and as you gain weight. Just like other parts of your body, your foot is composed of bones and tissues that expand and elongate. Thus, you need to measure your foot size every time you buy shoes. If you buy shoes often, then maybe you can check your size every now and then.
Seek Help From Shoemakers For Some Adjustments
There are times when women have to buy the shoes even if there are some minor problems with the pair. Thus, it is best for you to find an excellent shoemaker to help you with minor adjustments, such as reinforcing the heels, easing hot spot or pressure points, etc. However, you should only buy shoes that require minor tweaking. If the footwear you acquired needs major overhaul, then it is not really worth your money and time to buy that pair.
If The Shoe Hurts
Do not ever think that after a few days, your shoes will fit you and be suddenly comfortable. If the shoe hurts the first time you tried it, there is a big possibility that it will continue to hurt even after wearing it for three or four times. Thus, it is wise not to buy shoes that cause some pain.
Give Your Toes Some Room
If you look at the styles of some women's shoes, you will think that they seem to have the same effect as the shoes used to bind the feet of women in ancient China. High-heeled fashionable shoes really look stunningly gorgeous but utterly uncomfortable, especially for the toes and nails.
You need to give your toes some room to wriggle inside your shoes. Thus, it is wise to select a pair that is a few centimeters longer than your feet so that your toes won't feel too pressured and cramped inside. Many women who have ingrown or long toenails complain of pinching and cramping because of very tight shoes. There is also a big chance that you will suffer from neuromas, also known as pinched nerves, if you continue to subject your feet and toes under such condition.
Women who are suffering from nail problems, such as nail fungus, should also be picky with their footwear. Slippers or open-toe shoes are ideal if you have nail problems so as not to exacerbate the situation. It is best to let your nail fungus heal before wearing enclosed footwear.

Weight loss market today
By John Scott
The article looks that three pieces of news: that the market for antiobesity medications is going to grow by a factor of five, that Acomplia may prevent liver disease and that the German courts have confirmed their decision not to allow the subsidy of Acomplia out of public funds. It is shame that a medication that is no needed cannot gain regulatory approval for its full range of effect.
Today, I am going to deal with three pieces of back-to-back news about the weight loss market in general and Acomplia in particular. Decision Resources is one of the world's leading research firms on health care and pharmaceutical issues. In a recent report, it confirms that obesity has reached epidemic proportion in seven of the world’s major markets: France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Spain and the United States. Given the potential need for effective treatments, the company predicts that the market will grow fivefold by 2016 from the base figures in 2006 where sales are estimated at $478 million to $2.7 billion.
Given the rate of growth in the incidence of obesity, Decision Resources predicts that the need for safe, effective and well-tolerated medications will be strongest in the US. But, the experience of Sanofi-Aventis is instructive. When it applied to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the approval of Acomplia, the FDA proved sceptical and demanded significantly more evidence of the medication’s safety. Sanofi-Aventis withdrew the application and will resubmit next year. But this reaction from the FDA has become more common and it could slow the arrival of all the new medications in this category (Amylin, Arena Pharmaceuticals, Merck and Pfizer all have antiobesity medications in the development pipeline).
So we have an interesting situation developing. Looking at the current medications in development, they either work in the same way as Acomplia and so may run into the same safety concerns, or they rely on injections which are less a convenient delivery system. Thus, there are no obvious “blockbuster” medications due to appear in the US market in the next eight years — a sobering thought for those planning the US public health response to the obesity crisis.
Which brings me to the specific Acomplia news. Last June, the Berlin social court classified Acomplia as a "lifestyle" drug. In doing so, the court was confirming the decision made by the G-BA — a self-regulating body of doctors and health insurers that makes drug recommendations. German law does not allow the state-run health insurance companies to reimburse patients for non-therapeutic expenditure. There is a prejudice that being overweight is not an illness requiring treatment but the result of lifestyle choices by the individual. This month, an appeal against this decision was rejected which leaves Acomplia firmly restricted to the middle and upper classes who can afford to pay for it, and denies treatment to the poor whose diet may put them more at risk of obesity.
And back in the US, the latest edition of the journal Cell Metabolism is carrying encouraging new animal-study findings that Acomplia may be useful in blocking the development of alcoholic fatty liver — a major cause of liver disease. Mice treated with Acomplia did not experience alcohol’s fat-building effects. The researchers speculate that Acomplia could be an effective treatment in humans to reverse the fatty deposits and so prevent the progression into a full liver disease without the need to make the full lifestyle change to give up the addiction for alcohol (which is often not possible). They call for full clinical trials.
How ironic that we should have such good news about how effective Acomplia may be at the same time as the US and German authorities seem so unsympathetic to the antiobesity market’s needs.

The Healthiest Water: Tap, Bottled, Distilled or Filtered?
Submitted By: Larry Christopher
Anyone who grew up in the 1970s or earlier (or a little later) remembers a time when everyone was not walking around with a bottle of water in their backpack or purse. Now a water bottle is almost as common an accessory as a cell phone. On the one hand, this reflects a health trend -more people realize that staying hydrated is essential for health and well being, not only when engaging in strenuous exercise, but at all times. And despite the endless array of energy drinks, juices, and other "designer" beverages out there now, it is generally conceded that water is the healthiest drink of all.
Yet most people who are walking around with water bottles are not drinking water from a faucet or public fountain, but water they've purchased from a store or vending machine. This reflects a popular idea that bottled water is more pure, healthy and safe than plain tap water. Unfortunately, some recent studies have challenged this understandable assumption. Some bottled water is merely tap water that has undergone some basic filtering. Even actual spring water often contains contaminants. Regulations vary concerning water purity, and as long as the manufacturers conform to the local standards, they are allowed to call their product "spring" or "purified" water.
When you drink either tap or bottled water you are playing a kind of Russian Roulette, though a low risk version of that deadly game. At least it's low risk in the short run. In the long run, the effects of various contaminants are largely unknown. The fact that we seldom even know exactly what may be in a given glass, bottle or gallon of water makes the whole equation virtually impossible to work out.
One solution is to drink distilled water. This is, in one sense, the purest form of water by definition, as it is pure H2O and nothing else. But is distilled water really healthy? It is a controversial question. Dr. Mercola, who publishes a popular natural health web site, is one person who seriously disagrees with the health benefits of distilled water. He quotes a researcher named Dr. Zoltan Rona, who claims that his studies have shown that people who consume distilled water over a long period of time develop "multiple mineral deficiencies." Proponents of the acid/alkaline theory of nutrition claim that distilled water is acidic, while natural water is alkaline (the latter being healthier, according to that model).
Another, more esoteric researcher on water, Masaru Emoto (whose work was mentioned in the documentary, What the Bleep Do We Know), studies and photographs the crystallization process of water in various states. He is famous (at least in certain circles) for showing that water responds to words and intentions. One of his photographs shows that distilled water has a decidedly less healthy appearance than natural water.
On a purely intuitive level, I can appreciate that there is something unnatural about distilled water. After all, this can only be created by a technological process. Distilled water is not something you will ever find in the natural world. Yet, if tap and bottled water are polluted and distilled water is acidic and deficient in minerals, where does that leave us?
Today, the best solution would be to find a good water filter and consume mostly water that passes through that. This, of course, opens up another set of questions, as there are thousands of water purifiers and filters on the market, many claiming to be the best. This is something that requires a little research, but in general a low cost filter that you get at the dollar store is probably not going to be any better than run of the mill bottled water. I'm not saying go out and buy the most expensive water filter you can find, but do some checking and find out how various products are rated by other consumers, what kind of process they use, what kind of reputation the company has, and so forth.
Having said all that, I'll conclude by suggesting to not get obsessive or paranoid about water. If you follow belief systems such as the Law of Attraction (as I do), you can transform anything with your intentions. This is consistent with what Dr. Emoto has found as well. So, although this may sound silly to some, it may be worth your while to say a blessing, prayer, affirmation or whatever is appropriate to your beliefs before consuming water (or anything else for that matter). This may very well offset any contaminants. I would still recommend drinking the purest water you can find, just as its best to eat the healthiest foods and breathe the cleanest air. But when it comes down to it, our beliefs and intentions may be the most powerful purifiers of all.

To Have Beautiful Eyelashes!
Submitted By: Debbie C. Allen
Eyelashes serve the purpose of shielding our eyes from possible injury. Eyelashes work in a similar fashion to the whiskers on a cat. They help us to sense possible impending danger or injury and we can then avoid it by batting or closing our eyes. But perhaps just as importantly, eyelashes are an ornamental component of our face.
Another function of eyelashes is that of framing our eyes which adds to the facial features of an individual. They are very ornamental. Without eyelashes an individual is not only more vulnerable to possible eye injuries but the face seems to be distorted to a degree. Eyelashes are one of the 'landmarks' of the face that we expect to see.
Humans are born with eyelashes. They develop in the embryo between the seventh and eighth week. Just like the hair on our head, eyelashes grow back if they fall out or are plucked. The process can take awhile though, it's been estimated that it takes anywhere from four to eight weeks to replace a single eyelash. The color of the eyelashes is usually similar that of the hair on the head but slightly lighter.
There can be various causes for the absence or loss of eyelashes: facial trauma and scarring, side-effects of treatments and therapies, hair plucking, and even congenital absence of all body hair. Because eyelashes are valued for their decorative purposes, as well as the protective advantages, many people without or with sparse eyelashes opt for ways to give the appearance of greater eyelash density.
From the simple use of cosmetics to the use of artificial eyelashes, the need can be satisfied rather simply and inexpensively. But some people prefer methods that are more permanent in nature.
One option is semi permanent eyelashes. This solution is more expensive than artificial eyelashes but for many this is a better choice. The semi-permanent lashes stay in place approximately 2 - 3 months, and they give a very natural appearance. But for many the repetitive applications can be a drawback. Over time this choice is an expensive option.
Permanent eyelash extensions are becoming increasingly more popular as an option for anyone desiring beautiful lashes. The surgical process involves actual implantation of individual strands of hair into the lash line. Although this is a very expensive and extreme choice more and more people are opting for it.
Some experts believe the procedure should be reserved for individuals requiring the eyelashes due to a medical nature or reason and not for cosmetic purposes. Before opting for this procedure one should do a fair amount of research. Learn about the procedure itself as well as the doctor that will be performing the task. As with any medical procedure, certain risks do exist. Notably, there is a risk of infection.
The quest continues for a better and safer way to enhance the appearance of our lashes. A new eyelash conditioner product is now available that stimulates eyelash growth. By doing so it promotes long, fuller and thicker eyelashes. The formula is applied along the base of the lashes in a fashion similar to the application of an eyeliner. The product is non-irritating. With all these advantages permanent extensions may soon become a thing of the past.

Fat Loss Diets – the Best Way to Lose Weight
Submitted By: Aron Cage
Are you looking to lose some weight through a proper diet control? Well, what you eat and when is the most important factor in the increase of your body’s weight. And again what you eat and when also decides how much weight you lose and how fast. So are you still interested to know how you can lose fat with dietary control? Well, keep reading.
Fat loss diets mainly comprise of a lot of high fiber food, low carb & fat and high protein food. You must also supplement it with large quantities of water to keep flushing your body off any kind of toxins that have been deposited in your body because of the junk food, colas, preservatives and medicines that you have been consuming all these years.
High fiber diet means that you fill your body with a lot of low calorie but high vitamin, minerals and roughage food. Vegetables like Eggplant (Brinjal), cucumbers, tomatoes, radish, carrots etc. contain huge volumes of roughage along with essential minerals and vitamins. Carrots are also good for weak eyes along with being highly beneficial for your bowel movement. Tomatoes are believed to contain cancer fighting agents. High fiber food also ensures that while you don’t consume any unnecessary calories, you still feel full and force the body’s metabolism to continue working at the top speed for digesting the food and ultimately throwing it out of the body.
Water also plays an essential role in weight loss. There are a lot of weight loss programs which just dismiss the role of water in fat loss diet because nothing has been scientifically proven. But then, they haven’t been able to answer the simple question on how can we ignore something that makes up for 70% of our body’s weight while attempting to lose some fat? Water regulates all the processes in our body and even is the major constituent of blood. Thus, you must drink enough water each day to keep your metabolism in good shape. Also remember that your body automatically decides that how much water is enough, therefore, you don’t need to bother if you think you drink too much water.
The next important constituent of your diet should be high protein foods like Soy Chunks, Sea food and especially a regular quantity of Sea Cod which is available in the form of oil as well as ready to swallow capsules in the market under various brand names. Sea food is a source of very healthy proteins. Sea Cod contains agents that fight the unhealthy omega-3 fats in our body. For those who are looking for something vegetarian, Soy Chunks is a great source of healthy protein. It is easy to prepare and can even replace your evening snacks.
All said and done, no amount of dieting can simply help you reduce those extra pounds super quick. You must combine some proper exercise and jogging with the weight loss diet for the most optimum results.

What Every Woman Wants
Submitted By: Murphy Toerner
Do you remember your first date? My first date took place while I was in 7th grade. He guy rode his bike to the school dance and my father dropped me off. I wore an emerald green dress that was satin. I was scared. I was nervous. However, all through the evening, we danced and laughed and danced some more. We had a great time.
Yes, we had a great time even though there was no expensive dinner. There was no limousine. There were no party pics and there was (for sure) no "kiss." Yet, it was a lot of fun. I felt special, I felt beautiful and I felt chosen.
Every woman longs to be: noticed, pursued, and appreciated. Every woman desires to be chosen and SPECIAL. Every woman needs to know that she is valued; that she is attractive and maybe even beautiful. Every woman wants to have a sense of hope for the future. Every woman wants to experience healthy relationships and healthy intimacy.
There are tons of "life-lessons" and messages we learn along the way. Often, we learn messages like: you are ordinary; you are common. Sometimes we receive messages that define us as: expendable and disposable. Sometimes we learn specific lessons from the way people treat us (or mistreat us). The treatment and/or maltreatment communicates that we are unimportant, disqualified and perhaps, even ugly. Other messages imply that we are not valuable nor are we honorable; we are not to be treated with dignity nor are we to be viewed as ones who are made in the image of God.
In the book, The Sacred Romance, the authors (B. Curtis & J. Eldredge) wrote, "We come into the world longing to be special to someone and from the start we are disappointed. It is a rare soul indeed who has been sought after for who she is -- not because of what she can do, or what others can gain from her, but simply for herself..." "Can you recall a time when a significant someone in your life sat down with the sole purpose of wanting to know your heart more deeply, fully expecting to enjoy what they found there?" (p. 83) "More people have climbed Mount Everest than have experienced real pursuit and so what are we left to conclude? ... That there is noting in our hearts worth knowing. Who ever and what ever this mystery called 'I' must be, it can not be much." (p. 84)
God designed women with unique longings and desires. It is no "mistake" that we desire to be loved. It is not "weird" to want to be wanted. It is God's divine design. It is NORMAL. These are right and good. If you have ever studied psychology, you know that every person NEEDS to be touched. We need to be given attention. We need safe attachments; we need to feel secure and significant.
Personally, I believe that every woman needs to know that she is: lovable and valuable; attractive and beautiful; interesting and worth being pursued. Every woman needs to know that her presence makes a difference and she brings something unique to every group she is a part of. She needs reassurance that the future will not always be as bleak as it seems in the present. She needs to experience healthy dynamics in each of her unique relationships (as wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend). She needs to be believe that there are a "few" people with whom she can really be herself and still be accepted ... if not celebrated.
So, where am I going with this? I believe with all my heart that these deep needs can be and will be met in our relationships with: God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. As we come to know each person of the God-head for who they really are ... and ... as we are able to love them and be loved by them, our deepest needs will be met. When these transactions happen we will become increasingly settled in our souls. As the love, acceptance, forgiveness, blessings, grace, mercy, (and everything else that one receives when they enter into the family of God), we will walk in a manner worthy of our calling. We will not feel compelled to prove that we are OK or prove that we have value. We will have the ability to be in silence and solitude and not feel lonely at all. We will experience the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension.
How does this happen? When we get to a place when we seek God simply for who He is and not for what He does. When we stop approaching Him as our "vending machine in the sky"; the "man" upstairs; our co-pilot; or a "god" we simply put in a box and only call on him when we need or want something; when we truly experience His love, character and ways; when we accept that we are unequivocally forgiven, adored, and accepted by the God of the universe ... something within us happens. We begin to see Him as He is. He is the father that we always wanted but never had. He is the nurturer we longed for but never knew. He is the friend who is always faithful and He is the husband who will never leave us nor forsake us.
When we really know God, something happens on the inside of us as women. We begin seeing ourselves as the daughters of a King and sisters of a Prince. We more readily accept the idea that there is a power-source indwelling us, who is able to give us courage, wisdom, power, determination, and perhaps most importantly ... HOPE.
Think about it ...
Beside you in Christ,
Murphy Toerner

How to Meditate in 3 Easy Steps
By Mike Hughes
The practice of meditation has been around for thousands of years, but we have just as much need for it today, with our busy lifestyles, as the mystics seeking enlightenment in ancient times.
Learning how to meditate is one of the best ways to learn to relax and eliminate stress and, unlike medication, there are no nasty side effects. There are many different types of meditation from the extremely complex to the relatively simple but I’m going to show you a quick and easy method which anybody can learn in a few minutes.
First, find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed for about 10 to 15 minutes and sit in a straight-backed chair.
Place your feet on the floor and rest your hands comfortably on your lap. Sit upright and imagine a thread pulling the top of your head up toward the ceiling (no slouching allowed!)
Now, imagine that your belly is a balloon - as you breathe in, the balloon expands and as you breathe out the balloon collapses in toward your spine. This breathing method ensures that you’ll be using your diaphragm, instead of your chest muscles, which promotes greater relaxation.
Concentrate on the movement of your belly, expanding and contracting, and also on the sound of your breath as it goes in and out of your mouth.
Continue for about ten to fifteen minutes, then open your eyes but don’t stand up straight away, wait for a few moments to re-orient yourself first.Congratulations! You now know how to meditate.
Try to do this technique twice a day for a week and you’ll be amazed at how more relaxed and less stressed you feel. In fact you may feel so good that you’ll want to make meditation a permanent part of your life.
Mike Hughes has been practicing meditation for over 20 years and is the author of "The Power of Stillness" which will teach you How to Meditate using a more powerful method.

By Kaye Medalla
In the weight loss game, you have to understand that there are no “wild” cards, and there are no shortcuts. So if you are looking for tips on quick weight loss diets, look for it some place else. But if you are looking for ways to lose weight in days for free, here's to you.

You will win or you will lose depending on how well you play the game and follow the rules. 7 Rules To Lose Weight In Days
1. Make a game plan. Goal setting is an important step for you to establish focus on where you want to be and what you want to lose and gain in your life. Set your mission, to lose weight. Set your vision, to be healthy for the long term and for the rest of your long life. You want and you can lose weight and gain more of the precious years of your life ahead.
2. Curb that appetite. Before or in between meals, it would be a good idea for you to nibble some veggies. This will take the edge off your appetite and prevent you from going hungry and pig out. Another benefit that you can get from these mini meals is it can lower your sugar levels thus, inactivating your fat storage hormones. You would never want to get these guys go "hyper". What we want to nudge and push are your fat burning hormones, they are your best friends.
3. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so never start your day without it. Eat substantially in the morning, don't worry you will burn those calories through out the day unless you live a sedentary life. Eat moderately at lunch time and less during dinner since you won’t need any food energy while you’re sleeping.
4. Whenever you eat, take only small servings of food. It's not your last meal so don't eat like you are going to miss the food for a long time. But do not deprive yourself, if you really have to take a bite then do it just chew it to the pulp.
5. Try to avoid second helpings if you are not up to burning those extra calories on a workout that day. Just reserve that second helping for your mini meal.
6. Dessert is not a right, it is a privilege for you. Have you been a good boy or gal? Have you been good in following your diet plan and have you been doing your regular workouts? If yes, go ahead and reward yourself. You deserve it.
7. Know exactly where you stand each day. Check yourself for what you've lost and what you've gained, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This is a great motivating factor when you start to see the improvements and results of your hard work.
If you took a dip, forget about it, start over and move on. These things really happen. Just take note of what made you do it and try to avoid those kinds of instances in the future.
You can be stubborn and continue whatever you are doing right now or you can follow these rules and take a leap of faith, read on.

Meditation for a better state of mind
By Gareth Graham
There are times when we all wish would could clear our minds of thoughts that are troubling us. Learning Meditation can help us to be able to create moments in time where our minds are without the concerns of our day to day lives. It is only obvious that meditation has health benefits. Our mind and body are connected. The stress you feel can create body chemicals that do you harm. Meditation can remove the stress and concern. However, meditation for many people can be a struggle in itself. It can take real practice to achieve the results that so many people desire.
Sometimes, the more we try to clear our minds, the more stressed we become. So when beginning meditation some prefer to use music to help the process. Music is great for focussing attention and engaging emotions. It offers an opportunity to let our minds go with the sounds and away from the stresses and concerns of our day.
What music is best? I recently read an article that suggested that you shouldn’t have music with singing. Personally I prefer music on its’ own or music accompanied by the voice of a meditation guide.
In fact, I’ve found guided meditation can be incredibly powerful. So what is a guided meditation? Well, it actually varies, from guide to guide, but really it’s all about following instructions.
All forms of meditation will help. The important part is that you make the time to do it. I wholeheartedly encourage you to set aside some time. It doesn’t have to be much. Maybe 10-20 minute 3 times a week. If you do, I guarantee you will feel the benefits. You can download a free guided meditation here
